Superliner Coaches

The Superliner Coaches--chaircars as some might call them--come at the rear of the train on the Starlight. They offer comfortable seating; the seatbacks recline, there are footrests, and each seat comes with a fold-out table (as is done on airplanes). There is overhead storage area for small bags, suitcases, and luggage. Storage for larger baggage is often available at the ends of the cars. Service attendants give out pillows. No one minds if you bring your own pillow and blanket (if fact, it is recommended for longer trips). This is basic service, but most people find it sufficient. You are also free to get up and walk around and use the Sightseer/Lounge and the diner. Restroom facilities are on the lower level as are lower-level seating for the handicapped  (also seniors and others with mobility problems) and more storage space.
